The Learning Disabilities Association of Texas (LDA of Texas) proudly joins individuals, families, educators, and advocates across our state and nation in recognizing October as Learning Disabilities Awareness Month. This annual observance highlights the strengths, challenges, and achievements of the millions of Texans with learning disabilities—and reaffirms our shared commitment to promoting understanding, inclusion, and equitable access to education and support.
We are honored to share that Governor Greg Abbott has officially proclaimed October 2025 as Learning Disabilities Awareness Month in Texas, recognizing the vital importance of early identification, evidence-based intervention, and ongoing support for individuals with learning disabilities such as dyslexia, dysgraphia, dyscalculia, and other related conditions.

Why This Month Matters
Learning disabilities are among the most common neurodevelopmental differences, yet they are often misunderstood. Awareness is the first step toward creating inclusive schools, workplaces, and communities that recognize diverse learning needs and celebrate individual strengths.
